Wilmington College Quaker Heritage Center

and historical buildings of Wilmington College

Start your trip with a Campus Walking Tour of the college, using the map attached below. We suggest parking on College Street and starting at the Peace Resource Center.

The Quaker Heritage Center opened in 2005 and was a result of a bequest from a former college trustee, Meriam Hare. It is part of the Boyd Cultural Arts Center, and is made up of a Meeting House, an exhibition space, classrooms, offices and archival storage.

The adjacent Meeting House hosts the worship for Campus Friends Meeting as well as faculty meetings for the college.

Just outside of the Center, there is a bronze sculpture of Isaac and Sarah Harvey titled “Who Sends Thee?” that was installed in 2009. The statue depicts the Harveys’ trip to Washington DC in 1862 to meet with President Abraham Lincoln with their concern for freeing the nation’s slaves.
